Testuff with Team System
How does Testuff integrate with Team System?
Although Testuff is a hosted service it can automatically send every reported defect to your Team System account. You can run your manual tests with Testuff and continue to use Team System for bug tracking.
The integration is done by the desktop client. Therefore, it should work also if you host Team System on an internal server. Our server doesn't need to access your bug tracker server and you don't need to change anything in your security or firewall configuration to make it work.
How do I configure Team System with Testuff?
- In Testuff, go to Settings > Bug Tracker.
- Choose Team System from the bug trackers combo box.
- Fill in the Team System server address in the URL field. This should be the Team System URL, omitting any file names that may appear after the last slash.
- Enter the work item type for exported defects in the Work Item field.
- Set the Default Project. Defects exported from Testuff projects that do not have a custom Team System project will be exported using this project name.
- Click the Set my Team System user link and input your Team System username and password. Defects opened by you in Testuff will be submitted to Team System using these credentials.
- You may click the Create a sample bug report link to make sure Testuff can create bug reports in Team System. If all goes well the new bug report should be displayed.
- Don't forget to click OK to save the settings.
Can I associate a custom Team System project to a Testuff project?
Yep. If you wish to export defects from a certain Testuff project to a certain Team System project, follow the instructions below. Projects that do not have a custom Team System project set to them will use the default one from the general settings.
- Go to the home screen via the house icon at the top left.
- Click the Manage projects link and select a project by clicking on the Edit link next to it.
- Under General tab, fill in the Team System project for this Testuff project.
- Click OK to save the settings.
What are the requirements to use Testuff with Team System?
You should have the full Team System 2008 client or the Team System Explorer 2008 installed on your machine. If not, please download and install the additional support files.
Do you support viewing Team System tickets from Testuff?
At the moment, unfortunately not. You may copy the ticket numbers from Testuff and use your Team System client to view tickets.
